What is Microdermabrasion
One of the most effective methods for individuals to combat the effects of aging is through microdermabrasion. This non-surgical technique is a quick, efficient, and convenient method for individuals to combat facial imperfections caused by sun exposure, ache, and aging. This popular procedure will help individuals find relief from enlarged and clogged pores, fine lines, acne scarring, pigment irregularities, just to name a few
How is the Procedure Preformed
At Spokane Skin Care Center we use only medical grade sodium bicarbonate rather than aluminum oxide, which is typically used in the industry. Sodium bicarbonate, a non-metalic solution, is a more gentle alternative to using aluminum based solutions.
Utilizing a specialized tool that passes a fine mist of sodium bicarbonate crystals over the skin's surface, the intensity of the treatment is based on the needs and expectations of the individual patient. The versatility offered by the dermabrasion tool can achieve a light buffing effect that is used to treat surface imperfections or achieve a deep level of exfoliation that treats deeper skin imperfections. This tool evenly removes the top layers of a patient's skin and rejuvenates the patient by revealing a fresh new layer of cells over a wide area.
The microdermabrasion procedure takes between 15 and 60 minutes depending on the area to be treated. This treatment does not require the use of anesthesia and you should feel no pain, although there may be a stinging sensation around the eye area or other sensitive areas. There are no lingering effects.
